Letterpress broadside of the poem "ICU" by Spencer Reece from his second collection, The Road to Emmaus. Printed in black, red, and blue linseed oil ink on cream Flurry Cotton letterpress paper. This broadside was designed and printed in collaboration with the poet and is issued in a limited edition of 75 numbered prints.
The type for this print is hand set, one letter at time, in 24 pt. Italian Old Style type. The interwoven wave design at the side of the print was made by Mark McKellier of McKellier Wood Type. Each print passed through a 1911 Chandler and Price printing press four times. Because letterpress prints are made by hand, they may vary slightly from one to another.
I make all prints in my shop personally by hand, including typesetting, carving illustrations, and printing on the press.
The print measures 11 by 14 inches and will fit easily in a standard frame. Frame is not included.
The print will ship rolled in a tube and should be unrolled immediately upon receipt and weighed at the corners for a day or two before framing for best results.
