Letterpress print of an excerpt from Marge Piercy's poem "To Be of Use." It is printed in dark green linseed oil ink on green cardstock.
The type for this print is hand set, one letter at time. The type is 24-point Century Old Style. The wheat ornament at the top was laser engraved by Mark McKellier of McKellier Wood Type. The amphora at the bottom was hand-carved from linoleum mounted on a wood block by me. Because letterpress prints are made by hand, they may vary slightly from one to another.
I make all prints in my shop personally by hand, including typesetting, carving illustrations, and printing on the press.
The print measures 8 by 10 inches and will fit easily in a standard frame. Frame is not included.
