Letterpress print of a quote from T.S. Eliot's "Little Gidding" from The Four Quartets. It is printed in green and reddish-brown linseed oil ink on white cotton paper.
The type for this print is hand set, one letter at time. The compass image is hand-carved from a block of linoleum mounted on wood. Each print was fed twice by hand through a 1911 Chandler and Price printing press to create the print. Because letterpress prints are made by hand, they may vary slightly from one to another.
I make all prints in my shop personally by hand, including typesetting, carving illustrations, and printing on the press.
The print measures 11 by 14 inches and will fit easily in a standard frame. Frame is not included.
