This is a letterpress print of Emily Dickinson's poem "To Make a Prairie." It is printed in green and yellow linseed oil ink on soft white Flurry Cotton letterpress paper.
The type for this print is hand set, one letter at time, and the bee is a hand-carved linoleum cut. Each print was passed through a 1911 Chandler and Price printing press two times, once for each color. Because letterpress prints are made by hand, they may vary slightly from one to another.
I make all prints in my shop personally by hand, including typesetting, carving illustrations, and printing on the press.
The print measures 8 by 10 inches and will fit easily in a standard frame. Frame is not included.
